CAYO INTERCLUB YOUTH LEAGUE

The Cayo InterClub Youth League is now scheduled to start on April 18, 2004. Five clubs have confirmed their participation. The league will follow an "apertura" and "clausura" system similar to the Mexican league system.

Mr. Saul Barrera of Club Real San Ignacio has been appointed as the first president. For the first year, it is expected that clubs will field teams at the U12, U14 and U16 categories.

The plan has already been reviewed by national technical director Ian Mork. It is hoped that other districts will follow up with their own leagues, which eventually can be tied to a national youth league for Belize.
